After some Russian cards, I received another card from a top country: Germany . The card has traveled a distance of 691 kms in 20 days. It shows us the beautiful part of nature in Eastern Germany. The Spreewald. 

22 July 2012 - DE-1467845 - Bad Belzig

Actually this is number 50 of Germany on my blog. It is my 36th official. It has traveled a distance of 564 km in 7 days. I'm happy because it is a new UNESCO site for my collection. It shows us the Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz.

The Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitz is an exceptional example of landscape design and planning of the Age of the Enlightenment, the 18th century. Its diverse components - outstanding buildings, landscaped parks and gardens in the English style, and subtly modified expanses of agricultural land - serve aesthetic, educational, and economic purposes in an exemplary manner. And.... I got my second card on 1st April as well! This time from Germany . It is actually my 35th card from this country. It shows us Bamberg.

A lovely view from Germany. . It has traveled a distance of 411 km in 7 days. It shows us a beatiful lake near Mannheim.

13 June 2011 - DE - 936323 -Remagen

It took me a while before I was able to scan this card. This one was send half june from Germany and has traveled a distance of 265 km in 11 days. It shows us the American winner on the high dive of the Olympics in 1938.

4 May 2011 - UNESCO Tag

Last summer I quit with tagging due to the fact that I was moving to another city. I didn't had time for it until the last weeks. I decided to participate in the UNESCO tag. Funny was that Elbe , somebody who has tagged me before, tagged me! He send me this lovely card which shows Everglades National Park in Florida.




"This site at the southern tip of Florida has been called 'a river of grass flowing imperceptibly from the hinterland into the sea'. The exceptional variety of its water habitats has made it a sanctuary for a large number of birds and reptiles, as well as for threatened species such as the manatee".

It has been a while ago that I received a card from the city Berlin. It has traveled a distance of 622 km in 4 days. It shows us berlin from the Oberbaumbrucke. You can see the Fernsehtrum. I have been there 1,5 years ago and its an amazing view!

My 5th card from Germany in 2011. It has traveled a distance of 509 km in 4 days. It shows us some vegetables and fruit.

12 February - DE-823619 - Frankenthal

My 30th card from Germany ! It has traveled a distance of 401 km in 10 days. It is not a German card but shows us a Greek impression. I really like the typical blue/white colours in Greece. That is one of the reasons why I put those kind of cards on my wishlist!

I really like winter scenes, like this one from Germany . It has traveled a distance 681 km in 8 days. It shows the Königsschloß in Neuschwanstein. It my 225th official!

Not a very rare UNESCO site for me, but again a different card. It was send from Germany and it has traveled a distance of 199 km in 10 days. It shows is the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen.

This interesting view was send from Germany . It has travelled a distance of 557 km in 18 days. The first time when I saw this card, I thought it was from a country in the South of Europe. Gera doesn't sound German, well it's really German place.

While this postcard was send from Germany , is shows us a part of Utah in the USA.It has travelled a distance of 197 kms in 18 days. I really love this picture! It's beautiful.

Two weeks ago, I received this lovely nightview from Germany . It has travelled a distance of 316 kms in 16 days. It shows us the Kurhaus of Wiesenbaden. It is the 20th official of this country!

You choose 3 UNESCO whs

I decided to participate in the 'You Choose 3 UNESCO whs in an envelope tag' and got three different UNESCO sites from Bine from Germany .

#1 Roman Monuments, Cathedral of St Peter and Church of Our Lady in Trier



Trier, which stands on the Moselle River, was a Roman colony from the 1st century AD and then a great trading centre beginning in the next century. It became one of the capitals of the Tetrarchy at the end of the 3rd century, when it was known as the ‘second Rome’. The number and quality of the surviving monuments are an outstanding testimony to Roman civilization.

#2 Mines of Rammelsberg and Historic Town of Goslar



Situated near the Rammelsberg mines, Goslar held an important place in the Hanseatic League because of the rich Rammelsberg metallic ore deposits. From the 10th to the 12th century it was one of the seats of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Its well-preserved medieval historic centre has some 1,500 half-timbered houses dating from the 15th to the 19th century.

#3 Monastic Island of Reichenau





The island of Reichenau on Lake Constance preserves the traces of the Benedictine monastery, founded in 724, which exercised remarkable spiritual, intellectual and artistic influence. The churches of St Mary and Marcus, St Peter and St Paul, and St George, mainly built between the 9th and 11th centuries, provide a panorama of early medieval monastic architecture in central Europe. Their wall paintings bear witness to impressive artistic activity.
