Slavic Countries RR - Special Group 22 - Croatia

I hardly receive cards from Croatia . It has 348 postcrossingmember. This one is received via the Slavic Countries RR and send by Nessa Saelind. It shows us the Split Harbour with in the background a part of Diocletian Palace, which is an UNESCO site. It is the first UNESCO site from this country in my collection.



The ruins of Diocletian's Palace, built between the late 3rd and the early 4th centuries A.D., can be found throughout the city. The cathedral was built in the Middle Ages, reusing materials from the ancient mausoleum. Twelfth- and 13th-century Romanesque churches, medieval fortifications, 15th-century Gothic palaces and other palaces in Renaissance and Baroque style make up the rest of the protected area.

Slavic Countries RR - Group 4

A long time ago, in April, I received my first card from Croatia . This is my second. It was send by lu-lu and it shows us some touristic places in Zagreb.

9 April - HR - 5153 - Makarska

Today I was very surprised when I found a postcard from Croatia in my mailbox! A view of the place Makarska. A city near the coast. The card has travelled a distance of 1322 Kms in 16 days. An original card from a original country!



And there was a lovely stamp on it as well!


The next days I will be on vacation so there wont be any update on this blog for a week.
