When I found this card in my mailbox, I was happy because I thought it was a new country for me!! But in the end, I discovered that I already received a card from Turkey in January 2010. It has traveled a distance of 2,240 kms in 10 days. It shows us Pamukkkale, which means 'cotton castle'. It is also an UNESCO site. And this is my first UNESCO site from Turkey!! :)

Deriving from springs in a cliff almost 200 m high overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) an unreal landscape, made up of mineral forests, petrified waterfalls and a series of terraced basins. At the end of the 2nd century B.C. the dynasty of the Attalids, the kings of Pergamon, established the thermal spa of Hierapolis. The ruins of the baths, temples and other Greek monuments can be seen at the site. Soucre: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list
