I found a lovely UNESCO site in Thailand in December. It was not only a long time ago that I have received a card from this country, its also my first UNESCO card. It has traveled a distance of 9231 km in 31 days. It shows us Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya.
Founded c. 1350, Ayutthaya became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. Its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, give an idea of its past splendour. (source: UNESCO.org)
My name is Lisan and I live in Netherlands. I'm participating in a project called Postcrossing since March 2009. I created this blog to share my experiences with exchanging postcards all over the world and the project itself :) You can see my profile here
