Funny was that Elbe , somebody who has tagged me before, tagged me! He send me this lovely card which shows Everglades National Park in Florida.
"This site at the southern tip of Florida has been called 'a river of grass flowing imperceptibly from the hinterland into the sea'. The exceptional variety of its water habitats has made it a sanctuary for a large number of birds and reptiles, as well as for threatened species such as the manatee". Source: whs.unesco.org

More than one month ago, the whole word was in shock by hearing the news of the earthquake in Japan. They are still suffering from this earthquake and there is a lot of damage. I receive today a card from Japan and it reminds me of the images I saw of this disaster. Japan must be a beautiful country and it is a pity that no tourist dare to go to Japan. I really hope that soon people will be able to visit this beautiful country again and that Japan can recover soon. This postcard has traveled a distance of 9,255 km in 9 days. It is an UNESCO card and shows us Yakushima.
Located in the interior of Yaku Island, at the meeting-point of the palaearctic and oriental biotic regions, Yakushima exhibits a rich flora, with some 1,900 species and subspecies, including ancient specimens of the sugi (Japanese cedar). It also contains a remnant of a warm-temperate ancient forest that is unique in this region. Source: http://whc.unesco.org/
