I think I should definably spend more time with postcrossing! I didn't see any cards from another 'big' country for long time. This time USA . It has traveled a distance of 7,016 km in 85 days! Actually the user is from China but has lived for a while in USA. I'm wondering why I took so long to reach my mailbox. By the way, it is a great card for postcrossing ;)

Due to my blog, I can easy look at my cards I received and so I discover that I didn't receive any card from Estonia in 2010! After 1,5 years I found finally one in my mailbox. It has traveled a distance of 1,514 km in 21 days. It is a great mapcard with even a windmill on it... and normally I find this only on Dutch cards ;)

4 May 2011 - UNESCO Tag
Last summer I quit with tagging due to the fact that I was moving to another city. I didn't had time for it until the last weeks. I decided to participate in the UNESCO tag. Funny was that Elbe , somebody who has tagged me before, tagged me! He send me this lovely card which shows Everglades National Park in Florida.
"This site at the southern tip of Florida has been called 'a river of grass flowing imperceptibly from the hinterland into the sea'. The exceptional variety of its water habitats has made it a sanctuary for a large number of birds and reptiles, as well as for threatened species such as the manatee".

It is almost a year ago that I received a card from Poland . I really like this country so Im always happy when I see a card from it. It has traveled a distance of 1142 km in 11 days. It shows us the Mazury lakes. I have never been there. This summer I will do a roundtrip through Poland but there is so much to see that I can not see the lakes.

More than one month ago, the whole word was in shock by hearing the news of the earthquake in Japan. They are still suffering from this earthquake and there is a lot of damage. I receive today a card from Japan and it reminds me of the images I saw of this disaster. Japan must be a beautiful country and it is a pity that no tourist dare to go to Japan. I really hope that soon people will be able to visit this beautiful country again and that Japan can recover soon. This postcard has traveled a distance of 9,255 km in 9 days. It is an UNESCO card and shows us Yakushima.
Located in the interior of Yaku Island, at the meeting-point of the palaearctic and oriental biotic regions, Yakushima exhibits a rich flora, with some 1,900 species and subspecies, including ancient specimens of the sugi (Japanese cedar). It also contains a remnant of a warm-temperate ancient forest that is unique in this region.

A very special and original card from... Russia . It has traveled a distance of 2411 km in... 78 days. I think this one got lost during the trip from Russia to my mailbox. It shows us the matreshka and a symbol of the Olympics in... 1980! Very cool! I have been to the Olympic in 2010 and it was amazing!
