Well, what should I say.... After my amazing experience of recieving a card from a rare country, I was not amused by receiving this one. I can not show a picture of it because its an empty card with only text. It was send from Russia. It has traveled a distance of 3,583 in 38 days. I have seen that the user also send more colourfol cards that I did ;) so maybe I was just unlucky! At least I have some nice stamps!

And 2013 starts with a card from..... Russia!
. This time the card was a little bit faster. It took 20 days to travel a distance of 2,027 kms. The card show us an UNESCO site; Kizhi.
The pogost of Kizhi (i.e. the Kizhi enclosure) is located on one of the many islands in Lake Onega, in Karelia. Two 18th-century wooden churches, and an octagonal clock tower, also in wood and built in 1862, can be seen there. These unusual constructions, in which carpenters created a bold visionary architecture, perpetuate an ancient model of parish space and are in harmony with the surrounding landscape. © UNESCO Worldheritage list

It seems that I was lucky to receive many cards from Russia
late 2012. And it is also a celebration, because it's my 20th official from this country. The card has traveled a distance of 2,205 km in 41 days. Pretty long again.
The card shows us the city centre of Moscow on a map. I have been to Moscow in 2009. It was actually the only time I have visited Russia.

No. 15 from Russia
!!! It is a very old fashioned postcard and I like it. It has traveled in 2,205 km in 48 (!) days! Pretty long. The card shows us the UNESCO site: St. Basil Cathedral. Although I have many postcards of this site, it is still beautiful. I have visited it in Moscow in 2009.
Inextricably linked to all the most important historical and political events in Russia since the 13th century, the Kremlin (built between the 14th and 17th centuries by outstanding Russian and foreign architects) was the residence of the Great Prince and also a religious centre. At the foot of its ramparts, on Red Square, St Basil's Basilica is one of the most beautiful Russian Orthodox monuments. Source: UNESCO world heritage list

Well, I always say this when I receive a card from Moscow, Russia
. I have been there in 2009 and I have seen all those highlights on this card. It is a beautiful Moscow by Night picture. It has traveled a distance of 2,205 km in 28 days.

The sender of this card also recommend a lot of books :) I should write them down on my "books to read list" but I'm wondering if I can find them in the Netherlands. Some of those books are from Russian writers.

Slavic Countries RR - Group 25 - Russia
I received this great card from Russia
from Juliet. Due to the fact I participate a lot in the Slavic Countriess RR, I have a lot of Slavic cards in my collection. This is a great addition! It shows the Novodevichy convent! An UNESCO site. I have been to Moscow one year ago and visit this convent as well. It is very beautiful!

The Novodevichy Convent, in south-western Moscow, built in the 16th and 17th centuries in the so-called Moscow Baroque style, was part of a chain of monastic ensembles that were integrated into the defence system of the city. The convent was directly associated with the political, cultural and religious history of Russia, and closely linked to the Moscow Kremlin. It was used by women of the Tsar’s family and the aristocracy. Members of the Tsar’s family and entourage were also buried in its cemetery. The convent provides an example of the highest accomplishments of Russian architecture with rich interiors and an important collection of paintings and artefacts.

An again a Vancouver 2010 stamp!! I'm so happy with those stamps :D

You choose Unesco Tag - Russia
I received this on via the You Choose Unesco Tag from Marinella from Russia
. It shows White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal, actually this is Suzdal.

These two artistic centres in central Russia hold an important place in the country's architectural history. There are a number of magnificent 12th- and 13th-century public and religious buildings, above all the masterpieces of the Collegiate Church of St Demetrios and the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin.
